Acute pain

In the Pain Clinic we treat conditions that cause acute pain due to trauma, degenerative alternations, or infections (for example bladder infection and pneumonia). In all cases our treatments offer relief from pain and contribute to the healing process.

When acute pain stems from trauma or degenerative alternations, we are in a position to use treatments that achieve the support and regeneration of the anatomical elements that have been damaged. This happens due to the stimulation of the self-healing system of the body.

In the case of injuries or accidents, and by the utilization of minimal invasive techniques, we are able to restore lesions previously treated only with surgery. In this way we not only achieve the restoration of the damage, but we relieve the patient from the collateral damage, the side effects and the long recovery time following a surgery.

Acute pain is also caused from various infections, for example pneumonia or cystitis. In these cases, apart from the treatment that is offered to the patient from the specialized doctor, the pain should not be neglected and has to be treated as soon as possible. The pain treatment adds directly to the healing process because a patient not in pain can recover much faster. Furthermore, the complementary treatments that we offer in these cases increase blood supply in the affected areas of the body and enhance their fast healing. Most importantly, due to the timely treatment of pain, the possibility of chronic neuropathic pain to appear is minimized.

In many cases acute pain, that is caused from any condition, and its cause of appearance is not treated in a timely and effective manner may transform into chronic pain. In that case, the patient continues to be in pain for a long period of time even if it appears to be no cause for it. This kind of pain is defined as chronic neuropathic pain and is a very suffering situation for the patient. In addition to that, the patient is considered by many to be an imaginary patient. For this reason acute pain should always be treated despite the condition that has caused it.
